Not quite but almost since the new MPV Chevrolet initially designed to Mercosur, is derived from the Cobalt sedan launched last year. The MPV was developed by the design office and R & D GM Brazil located in Sao Caetano do Sul, Sao Paulo, where he has indeed been a few days.

The propulsion of this minivan is provided by a 1.8 L L4 engine Econo. Flex strong 108 hp and 168 Nm 6200 trs to trs 3200 version of ethanol but only 106 hp and 160 Nm on the petrol version. This 1.8 L engine can be associated either with the BVM5 (F17 gen 1.5) that we know already about the Aveo or the base versions of the Cruze, to be BVA6 (GF6) reviewed and amended for softness of operation. Ethanol 108 hp version boasts a Vmax of 171 km / h, a 0 to 100 km / h in 11.4 seconds with the version of 106 or BVA6 offer performance very close but slightly lower. The suspension are those of the Cobalt-wheel independent braking and mixed.
Chevrolet also explains the benefits of a Spin arrangement as “theater” that is to say that the seats of Range 1 are lower than those of rank 2 which are themselves lower than those of rank 3. - 23 possible settings of the back seats, roof rails, trip computer, reversing radar, radio with steering wheel controls, alloy wheels. Optionally, it can also be equipped with cruise control and the BVA BVA6
The Spin will be available with the following colors: White, Black, Beige Desert, Macao Blue, Silver Fleece, Mond Grey, Grey and Green Lotus Rusk

Finally, note that it will be available at dealerships in Brazil as early as next July and it is not anticipated at this time of export to countries outside Mercosur although Grace Lieblein (CEO of GM Brazil), Marcos Munhoz (vice president of GM Brazil) and Carlos Barba (design director GM Brazil) report that this compact minivan was created with a view to please the greatest number of the larger number of markets.
